10 Fall Trends to try Now? Runways take-away

Updated: May 30, 2019

So what's new this season? Padding, protective lines and cosy knits came together on the catwalks, perhaps as a shelter from the doom and gloom of a world in crisis. But if trends are truly heading for more and more comfort, fashion is retaining its sense of fun, its color and glamour, always with an sense of determination and self-assuredness. In short, this season it's all about celebrating the individuality of style through the multitude of trends waiting to be worn.

With fall temperatures officially upon us, boot and jacket season is finally here. Get inspired for a new season of fashion with the fall-ready street style looks spotted at Paris Fashion Week. From menswear-inspired blazers to statement-making jackets, here are 10 trends to try now.

Red To Toe

If there's one hue that screams A/W 17 from a mile off, it's red. Worn boldly via each and every piece of many catwalk looks, this is one colorful idea that actually feels approachable for mere mortals. In fact, it just so happens to the most flattering color on all skin tones, so it's a win-win.

Fancy Tights

Bag and shoe trends abounded at the shows, but one cost-effective styling trick proved too good to ignore. Tights switched from annoying afterthought to the linchpin holding some of the strongest looks together.

Feathers, Fur and Pluff

Everything is better with a marabou trim, right? Designers found themselves leaning towards exciting, touch-me textures instead of prints. After all, this kind of tactile action does feel very luxurious…

Supersize Sweater + Sweet Skirt

It's a tried-and-tested failsafe combination all year round in the UK, so we're thankful to the design houses of these leading brands for confirming that there's still plenty of mileage to be had in a midi skirt and a chunky jumper.

Add in a pair of bovver boots (they were present all over the A/W 17 shows), and you've instantly jettisoned this now-classic formula into a modern zone.

Mad Hatters

Has 2017 been the year of the corset belt? Yes. But could it be in competition with hats for A/W? Absolutely. Some of the most influential brands on the block made sure to top off every ensemble with a bold—and usually big—hat. Bad hair days can now be a thing of the past.

Check Mate

Designers are inarguably mad about plaid- utilizing the distinctive Savile Row-worthy fabrication on everything from coats to suiting.

Winter Florals

A Floral story is not exclusive to spring - ladies like their bloom year-round and the runways were more than happy to comply with moodier versions of garden prints.

Denim Duty

With an overall Americana story for fall, it's hardly a surprise that denim is taking center-stage. And it's not just about a great pair of jeans - fall is a huge advocate of the Texas tuxedo, so prepare to wear your faded blues head to toe.

Matrix Moment

Black leather costuming. Designers were clearly influenced by the film's chic look at an austere dystopian future.

Puff Daddy

The puffer has gained popularity in recent seasons and shows no signs of slowing down. If anything, designers a taking the idea even further with vibrant shades and cool color-blocking.
