Spring 2020 12 Top trends

From artisanal crochet and graphic polka dots to a look at decades past via disco collars and '60s wallpaper prints, feathers, hot pants, bold neons, and many more.

It’s good news for classic wardrobe staples: denim, trench coats and shirting are all offered in smart combinations for spring. And when it comes to new ideas? Neon brights are proliferating, and shorts suits are having a moment.

Here bringing you the top 12 trends, in no particular order

#1 Crochet

Crochet is getting a cool update come spring. Think ultra-feminine dresses, polished suiting, and eveningwear that feels modern with a special touch of Grandma’s handmade crochet. As the fashion industry looks for ways to become more sustainable, there’s something special about a “trend” that embraces a slow, handmade technique.

#2 Bermudas

Wearing Bermuda shorts off-duty or posing for street-style photographers is harmless. But wearing them in corporate setting can be tricky. Keep the colors dark, and pair them with sleek button-downs.

The length of Bermuda shorts may stunt your height. The best way to prevent this from happening is to pair these trousers with flat footwear.

Tailoring’s grip is as firm as ever for spring (if you’re looking to invest in an exemplary trouser suit, now’s the time) but that doesn’t mean there aren’t some new, well-cut proposals

#3 Bra Tops

The bra top has officially entered the party come summer. From crochet iterations to a more daring sheer number, bikini dressing comes in all textures and styles. Just add a high-waisted skirt and you've got the perfect summer look.

With the bra-top trend being invariably revealing, it is best to pair it with more concealing items. Some choice items include long, pleated trousers, Chesterfield coats, and high-waisted anything.

#4 Tiers

Expanding on last season's idea of flowing tulle, for spring 2020 are lovely and light tiered dresses that manage to offer volume, high drama, and maximum twirl-ability.

Tiered maxi skirts are surprisingly versatile pieces for spring—dress them up with the right blouse and shoe, or make them more casual with a bra top and sandals.

#5 60's Wallpaper

Retro prints are rule—bringing both major color and pattern to all the top collections. Serving up mod home decor realness, vintage wallpaper (and couch) prints are channeled in the form of suiting and spring dresses. Your grandparents' old kitchen wallpaper made fashion.

From the flowing silhouettes to the lively patterns, the '60s was all about having fun with fashion: the decade was called swinging for a reason.

#6 Feather

When it comes to eveningwear, this spring enter: boldly feathered frocks and tops. While it's almost certainly light as air, these ensembles pack a heavy sartorial punch.

Give the look a bit of edge by styling a glam feathered top with a cool pair of trousers or jeans.

#7 Vests

Whether included as part of a three-piece suit, or mismatched with a jacket, there’s something quite dapper and appealing—not to mention endlessly flattering—about the almighty waistcoat.

Vests can be dapper and streamlined, or fresh and funky. But no matter the style you choose on any given day, know that they will add greater dimensions to your look.

Cut tight to the body and worn with micro shorts, billowing shirts and occasionally with nothing underneath at all.

#8 Leather

Once reserved strictly for fall and winter, leather is ready to have its moment during spring too. The material will come in just about every form—from colorful jackets to skirts and pants.

#9 Polka Dots

This trend shows no sign of slowing, freshened up by enlarged polka-dot prints

#10 Neon

There is never really just one color of the season. There is a consensus, however, on look-at-me colour - a neon explosion. Go glow.

#11 Blue Denim

Super-refined denim making everyday style a cinch? Yes, please. The spring collections deliver a bumper crop of blue jeans, from Bermuda shorts to ’70s kick-flares and upcycled grunge numbers. Double denim? That too, pairing denim over denim

#12 Lace and sheer

It’s the game of conceal-reveal: gossamer-light, lace-trimmed slip dresses that speak of sexiness insistently. Sheer fabrics are pointing to a new era of body confidence. Do you dare?
